My only gripes are the stock mic could be better and the display is basic, but for under $120 delivered? Can't complain.

Breaks through the noise on busy channels when other rigs can't. The AM clarity is good too. Gets hot after long drives but that's normal for this power level.

    Got this mainly for road trips with the family. The 60W FM mode is wild — I was talking to other travelers 40 miles out on a flat stretch in Nevada. My old 4W cobra couldn't hold a candle to this. Great for staying in touch with the convoy. Kids think I'm cool now. That's worth the price alone.

Radio has little Modulation swing out of it using the Stock mic, but put an 'Astatic Road Devil noise cancelling power mic' on it and it gets out very very well and is very has very clear audio out. The channel scan functions work very nicely for entire 40 channel scanning, or the Favorite channel scanning modes.
