We run a small delivery fleet and needed something reliable. The UV-980P at 50W VHF/UHF covers all our needs — dispatch, driver coordination, emergency. Dual display is actually useful for monitoring two channels at once. Cross-band repeat is a nice backup for our warehouse setup. Solid value for small business.

Managing a 15-vehicle off-road club requires reliable comms. The UV-980P with its 50W output ensures even our vehicles at the back of the convoy stay connected. Cross-band repeat function turned one vehicle into a relay station when we’re deep in the backcountry. 800+ memory channels mean we can pre-program all our club frequencies. Highly recommend for group activities.

Emergency preparedness means having multiple communication options. The UV-980P gives me VHF and UHF in one unit, with 50W of transmit power when I need range. Detachable panel is great for clean installs. With NOAA weather and the ability to monitor both bands simultaneously, this is my go-to grab-and-go radio for emergency kits.
