I absolutely love this radio. All the features and accessibility make this the best I’ve owned so far. I was skeptical at first due to some of the negative reviews on Amazon, but after playing with it all day today, I’m glad I bought it. It can be peaked and tuned though it’s set perfect out of the box. Doesn’t drift at all and the internal diagnostics is a plus though I’m not sure how accurate it is. I purchased this as a replacement from a burned up unit, so I thought. Old one wouldn’t transmit and it was very old. Plugged in my new, cheaper antenna to this one and the diagnostic test failed the antenna. Actually metered it finally and sure enough my antenna is bad. So I threw away my old unit for nothing I’m sure. Albeit aside, I’m more than happy with the clarity out of this one and is a huge upgrade from what I had. Weather bands sound great. Memory scan and full channel scan as well as side band are great features.

Comecei com um velho CB realista da Radio Shack no liceu a falar com amigos e passei para vários cobra 29s, depois para Presidents e agora o meu primeiro Luiton de 10 metros. Nice radio. Receives very well. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality through the speaker built into the panel. When transmitting at full power, it’s best to connect the radio directly to the battery. And that detachable panel is a great feature. This allows you to nicely integrate the panel somewhere in the car. Operation is okay, although I assume that programming stations and giving them names via PC will be much more convenient. I don’t regret the purchase.

I like all the lights on front , plus Radio seems to receive very good just made contact about 14 miles away and other party sounded like he was in my front yard, very loud. I’m using 102″ whip up about 30ft to tip of whip. can’t beat whip for receive.. Other party said he had good strong copy on me also running barefooted radio. I just wish remote mike had squelch control on it would be great then.

This is an excellent radio, it works fabulously. I have it in my CMV at the moment, works like a charm. It was very easy to set up, and offers a great value for the money. If you go into a pilot or any other gas station to buy a radio of this caliber, you’re probably walking out $200. Luiton has pretty standard features and it performs well. I’m not familiar with the brand really but it seems to be good quality, as good as anything you’ll get online or in store for this price range if not better. It’s also a good size, fit in its standard position, at least in my truck. This can also be used at home or in a vehicle other than a truck but for my application, this is what it’s used for

Looks good. Feels good. Sounds good. Frequency coverage only goes up to 28.050 and 40 channels per band. owner’s manual and advertising says (programmable up to 60 channels per band) and coverage 25.615 to 30.105
I’m sure it’s something simple but how is it program for full coverage?

This rig is terrific for the price. As others have noted, it uses the same new board as the newest generation of the Stryker 955, a fabulous radio. It’s like getting the performance of the Stryker for just a bit more than half price. Transmit audio is excellent on all modes just using the stock mic. The radio is rock stable on sideband. There is no drifting. Mine arrived spot on frequency from the factory. The receiver is excellent also, very smooth sounding on all modes. Luiton had plenty of room to fit a standard 4pin jack, making it easier to wire up amplified mics. This is THE rig to get for the mobile or a nice base setup with a power supply. Great job Luiton.

So far there is nothing I dislike. I wanted a big LCD and it doesn’t disappoint. This AI noise reduction seems to work fairly well, I have a lot of static in my location which makes it difficult to talk to weak stations. It does actually help! I haven’t even figured out all of the bells and whistles yet and it has a lot but they are all useful features. It’ll be weeks or more before I’ll have a good grasp of the radio. I’ll update if need be. !ONE THING TO KNOW!

The reviews about this radio are mostly accurate. Radio has little Modulation swing out of it using the Stock mic, but put an ‘Astatic Road Devil noise cancelling power mic’ on it and it gets out very very well and is very has very clear audio out. The channel scan functions work very nicely for entire 40 channel scanning, or the Favorite channel scanning modes.

I have been using this radio for 2 weeks now, have made contacts all over the US of A on SSB and locally on AM. I am getting great feedback on the audio quality using the included mic, and everyone says it is very clean sounding. The scan feature is a huge plus for finding our local forestry and logging operations, to communicate with log truck drivers and heavy equipment operators when hunting. The WX channels come in better than my table top unit as long as “scan” feature is used to pick the best station.

I have the radio for a couple of months now and so far so good. I’ve been using 11 meter radios (CB) for around 40 years so I’m not exactly a novice. The verdict of course is still out on its longevity and durability but seems well built and I intend to mostly use it for a base station application. I also purchased the wireless mic and both the mic and the radio have never failed to pair up and I have gone about 200 ft. from the radio without loss of signal, even with the radio inside the house.
This is NOT a radio to tweak and tune, which is totally fine with me, so you ‘hash & trasher’s’ might not like it.

Running I-80 every week, this radio is a game changer. 60 watts on FM simplex reaches guys 30+ miles out when conditions are right. Got my SWR dialed in at 1.2 and she screams. Only wish the menu was a touch more intuitive but once you know it, it’s solid.

Bought this for my Jeep build alongside a antenna. AM sounds great, SSB even better. Used it last weekend on the trail — had three other rigs checking in on channel 18. Nobody else had a radio that cut through like this one. Tough as hell too, held up fine through the mud.

Okay I’m gonna be honest — I’m new to CB radios. Got my license just to use this. The setup took me about an hour (antenna tuning was new to me) but YouTube helped. Now I’m talking to truckers across three states. For the price? Unreal. Uniden Bearcat doesn’t come close at this power level.

I’ve owned Galaxy, Cobra, and a few others. The LT-5558B punches above its weight class. 45W PEP SSB is legit — hit a station in Colorado from Kansas on 20 meters last week. FM power selectable is a nice touch for local chat vs DXing. Get a good antenna and this thing will surprise you.

I don’t need all the fancy features. Just want something that works when I need it. This radio does exactly that. Mounted it in my truck, tuned the antenna once, and haven’t touched it since. Clear audio, strong signal, reliable. What more can you ask for?
