Detachable panel is great for clean installs. With NOAA weather and the ability to monitor both bands simultaneously, this is my go-to grab-and-go radio for emergency kits.

Cross-band repeat function turned one vehicle into a relay station when we're deep in the backcountry. 800+ memory channels mean we can pre-program all our club frequencies. Highly recommend for group activities.

We run a small delivery fleet and needed something reliable. The UV-980P at 50W VHF/UHF covers all our needs — dispatch, driver coordination, emergency. Dual display is actually useful for monitoring two channels at once. Cross-band repeat is a nice backup for our warehouse setup. Solid value for small business.
